Holiday Wreath

First wreath ever. It turned out pretty good, I learned a few things and the next one will be even better.

I wrapped a 12 inch straw form wreath with gray yarn, then made flowers and leaves out of felt and used a hot glue gun to attach.

The felt flowers:

Cut four different size circles
For the white flat flower I sewed a button in the middle to cover the thread.
For the navy petal flowers I used the same circle, but folded them and sewed together, thread was hidden.

Anyone have any tips please let me know.

My Adorable Son Mateo!

At an upcoming Holiday Open House I'm thinking of doing on-the-spot portraits for customers. I will have a computer and printer set-up so they can go online and print a picture for me and then I'll create a simple watercolor or line drawing for them right there! I wanted to see how long the process took from start to finish so I picked this picture of my son, Mateo from last year. It took about 30 minutes. I was hoping I could create one in about 15 minutes so I'm going to try shaving off some time on my next one.

If you want one of these portraits (thinking I'll charge $15), send me a picture and I'll mail it to you.

This would be a cute Christmas card too. Hmmm.

Finished Commission Piece

This is a photo of a house in Muleshoe, TX.

This is the painting I created, the picture was taken when the house and ground were covered in snow. I was difficult to make out some details. Interesting project, I hope they like it.
